Heracles and the carnivore Mares

F.León  S.López R.Bernabeu G.Rubio

One week ago the eighth task of Heracles was to steal the Mares of Diomedes,  he tried  to poison Heracles to feed the horses in his palace.

Eurystheus wanted Heracles to steal the Mares of Diomedes, so he would die. Heracles went to Diomedes palace, Diomedes was feeding his Mares with human meat. Diomedes gave Heracles a cup of wine with venom, Heracles knew this, so he pretend that he was poisoned. Later, when Diomedes was absent, Heracles took Diomedes and he put him into the mangers, where the Mares eat.
Finally, Heracles took the Mares to Eurystheus.
